According to Dr. Ali Hossein pour, the head of international relations and communications with scientific and research centers and organizations of the Center for Development Research and Foresight, one of the crucial factors for evaluating a country’s development is its rank in international development indices.

These indices are of utmost importance when politicians, business people, and investors are assessing countries.    

Dr. Hossein Pour maintained that although there are possibilities for intentional biases in the evaluation of data related to specific countries, these indices provide an overarching outlook of the general conditions of countries. He added, some of the prominent drivers for international participations in a country are global resilience index, business environment index, global competitiveness, global innovation, well-being, and economic development. He asserted, based on the global resilience index, which is published annually by FM Global, Iran has experienced a noticeable improvement, in its rank, compare to previous years, from 128 to 108.

Dr. Hossein pour stated that the main reason for the above-mentioned improvement is the alignment of Iran’s development plans, particularly the seventh development plan, with the measures of global resilience index. He also maintained that for achieving success in carrying out of developmental plans, it is indispensable to focus on the establishment and implementation of quality management system in association with budgeting and planning system.
